Grantiv is operated by Grantiv Pty Ltd (ABN 21 689 898 002), based in Brisbane, Australia. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect and why. If anything here isn't clear, email hello@grantiv.com.au.
Two reasons, and we'd rather be blunt about the second one:
When you request an application draft, the grant details and your profile are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the text. Anthropic does not train its models on data sent through its API. We keep a record of draft requests so we can improve the output.
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is handled by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and are never sent to us or stored on our systems — we couldn't show you your own card number if you asked. What we hold is which plan you're on, when it renews, and a record of payments so we can answer a billing question.
To set that up we give Stripe your email address and your organisation name. Stripe's own privacy policy covers what they do with it.
Two of the services Grantiv depends on are based overseas, so some of your information is disclosed outside Australia. We'd rather name them than bury it:
Both are established providers with their own privacy commitments, and we've chosen them partly for that. But an overseas disclosure is an overseas disclosure, and under the Australian Privacy Principles you're entitled to know it's happening.
If you give us your email, we'll use it to send grant round alerts and Grantiv updates. Every email has an unsubscribe link and we won't sell or share your address.
Your profile is stored in your own browser (local storage) and in our form records. Application drafts are stored in your browser too, not on your account — so clearing your browser data removes them, and we don't hold a copy to restore.
You can ask us to delete everything we hold about you at any time — email hello@grantiv.com.au and we'll do it, no questions asked.
One honest exception, and it's the law rather than a preference: if you've paid us, we have to keep the financial records of those payments for five years under Australian tax law. That's the invoice and the amount — not your profile, not your drafts, not your matches, all of which go. We'd rather flag it here than promise you a clean sweep and quietly keep a ledger.
We don't sell your data, we don't share it with grant bodies without asking you first, and we don't run ads.
Under the Australian Privacy Act you can ask to see what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we'll sort it out.
